What is a goal?
When using the Goal framework in Perform & Engage 365, users have the capability to create and manage objectives using the well-known SMART Goal framework.
SMART is a mnemonic for the criteria that is set to define the goal and stands for:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Relevant
- Time-bound
The idea with SMART goals is to make them measurable so that progress can be tracked. Perform & Engage 365 supports this through the criteria required to be entered when creating a goal, you must specify:
- A description
- Unit (binary, %, financial, numeric) (read more)
- Baseline (start value)
- Target (end value)
- Start date
- End date
Within Perform & Engage 365 goals can be created at different levels including at company, department, team or individual levels. It is also possible to align goals by selecting the parent of a goal.
Goal categories
It is also possible at an admin level to categorise goals to keep things organised. Goals can be tagged with any category you need, but common examples include personal, development, project-specific, or campaign type.
You are then able to search for goals by category tag, meaning it's even simpler to get a holistic view of how a project/team member/department etc. is progressing.
