Recognition is a key feature of the Perform & Engage 365 platform. It helps create a culture that puts team work, gratitude and extra effort at the forefront of everything you do.
There are three ways to give recognition:
- @mention
- Pass-up
- Pass across
💡 Top tip: Read our article for some ideas on how you can use the @mentions feed to boost engagement within your team.
Mentions
@mentions help you to highlight champions within your company. These boost camaraderie within a team. They're even better building and strengthening relationships when used across multiple teams where employees don't always get the opportunity to review the work of their peers in other areas of a business.
You can recognise a colleague in your business by using @ and their name within any part of your check-in to share some praise, but typically you might do so as part of a response to a recognition specific question.
For example:
Managers will then get to read about the great efforts other staff are going to and the mentioned employee gets a notification via email or Microsoft Teams, or their Perform & Engage 365 account, depending on your notifications settings.
Pass-ups/ Pass across
Pass-ups/across help with employee visibility.
As businesses grow, it becomes harder to stay on top of all the great work being done by your people. ‘Pass-ups’ allow any manager to share success stories (or issues) from an employee up or across the company, with just a simple click.
A pass up simply adds the employee response to the managers own personal check-in. This means the person reviewing the managers check-in can provide feedback to the manager but also view any successes/struggles raised by the managers team members directly too.
A pass across allows a manager to send an employee response across to any other user in the organisation. The person it is sent to will receive a notification and can view the pass across item. Typically this is useful for when an employee raises a requirement for additional support with something (maybe they are having an IT challenge). The manager can therefore submit the response to someone in the IT department who can hopefully help resolve or action something with the employee as soon as possible.
Employees are able to view all mentions and pass ups made by their manager directly from their own me dashboard by clicking on the icons available on the top right.
