Introduction
Submitting a weekly check-in enables you to give your manager a snapshot of how your week has gone.
While check-ins shouldn't replace regular meetings with your manager, they can be used to help structure effective conversations at your formal meetings.
Answering check-in questions should take no more than 10 minutes. It's a quick reflection, not a lengthy report. Taking the time to submit a weekly check-in gives you an opportunity to reflect on your week (such as your achievements, the challenges you've faced, give kudos to people across your organization) and record important information about your personal development progress.
The information you submit will help your manager provide timely and specific support, and give feedback to help your development.
You can't edit your check-in once you've submitted it so look over your responses before submitting them.
If you want to send an update to your manager but it's outside the window of your regular check-in schedule, you can submit an ad-hoc check-in. Ad-hoc check-ins follow the same process as your regular ones. For more information, see this article.

On the opened page, you'll see a list of questions you need to answer. If you have goals or OKRs set, you'll also see these.
Answer check-in questions
When you open your check-in, you'll see a list of questions you need to answer. These are the different types of questions you might see:
- Text. Enter text to answer this type of question.
- Choice. Select one or more answers from a list to answer this type of question.
- Rating. Select an answer from a rating scale, for example 1 to 5, to answer this type of question.
- Yes/No. Select Yes or No to answer this type of question.
- Recognition. Give kudos to colleagues or send a message of thanks by tagging them. Use the @ symbol, enter the first few characters of a colleagues name, then select them. The person you tag will get a notification. That person's manager can also see the message.
1. Answer each question.
2. If required, add attachments to support your answer by selecting Manage attachments on this response (the paperclip icon) to the right of the question.
All responses are shared between you and your manager. However, your manager can choose to pass-up or pass-across individual responses to their manager or peers if they feel a concern needs raising or they want to showcase your positive feedback. If you prefer them not to share your responses, mark your answers as private by selecting the padlock icon next to the relevant responses.
3. Once you've answered all the questions, you can move on to your goals and OKRs (if set). Alternatively, select Submit. You can also Save as draft if you want to complete your check-in later.
Update your progress against goals and OKRs
If you have goals or OKRs set, you'll also see these.
Each goal or OKR shows a red, amber, or green status, depending on the progress you've made.
1. If you've made progress since your last check-in, enter the percentage completion in the field above the progress bar. The progress bar and status update accordingly.
2. Add any comments to support your progress update.
3. If required, add attachments to support your progress by selecting Manage attachments on this response (the paperclip icon) to the right of the question.
4. Once you've completed a goal or OKR, you might not want to see it the next time you complete a check-in. To hide it from future check-ins, select Close.
5. Once you've updated your progress, select Submit. You can also Save as draft if you want to complete your check-in later.
Next steps
Once submitted, your manager will receive a notification and be invited to review your check-in. When they review it, they might respond to your updates. They can do this by:
- Liking your response (a thumbs up).
- Reply directly to your response.
- Pass up or pass across your response to their manager (if you haven't marked it as private).
